Is this safe to use with a real address?
Yes — the QR code is generated entirely in your browser. The address you enter is never sent to our server or anywhere else; it only exists locally to draw the QR code on your screen.
Will every wallet read the amount and destination tag from the QR code?
No — there's no single universal standard for encoding an amount or tag into an XRP QR code, so support varies by wallet. The plain address (our default mode) is readable by every wallet. The 'Payment URI' mode uses the informal ripple:address?amount=X&dt=Y format some wallets support, but always double-check the amount and tag manually before sending.
What is a destination tag, and why does it matter?
Many exchanges use a single shared XRP address for all their users, and rely on a destination tag (a number) to know which specific account a deposit belongs to. If you send to an exchange without the required tag, your deposit may not be credited — some exchanges can recover it manually, many can't. Always check whether the recipient needs a tag before sending.
Do I need to connect a wallet to use this?
No — this tool never asks for a wallet connection, private key, or seed phrase. You only enter a public address.
